Introduction to Slack (5 minutes)
In this section, learners will be introduced to Slack and its features. The instructor will provide an overview of the benefits of using Slack for communication and collaboration, and explain how it can be used to improve productivity.
Getting Started with Slack (10 minutes)
This section will provide step-by-step instructions for creating a Slack account, signing in, and navigating the Slack interface. Learners will also learn how to join or create a Slack workspace, which is the virtual space where team members can communicate and collaborate.
How to use Slack (30 minutes)
In this section we will discuss how the Slack interface works in its different parts, sidebar, messages, channels and navigation bar.
Understanding Channels (20 minutes)
Channels are one of the key features of Slack, and in this section, learners will learn how they work. The instructor will explain what channels are, their purpose, and best practices for creating and managing channels. Learners will also learn how to use channels to organize discussions and keep conversations focused.
Communication (20 minutes)
In this section, learners will learn how to send direct messages to individuals or groups, and how to create and participate in group chats. The instructor will also provide best practices for communication in direct messages and group chats, such as using clear and concise language, and avoiding jargon.
Collaborating with Slack Apps and Bots (25 minutes)
Slack apps and bots can help teams automate workflows and streamline tasks. In this section, learners will learn what Slack apps and bots are, how to find and install them, and how to use them to collaborate more effectively.
Workflows (30 minutes)
Workflows are multi-step tasks or automated processes, without the need for code, that start in your Slack workspace. They run directly in Slack and automate tasks in your workspace and connect with other tools and services.
Advanced Features and Tips (15 minutes)
This section will cover some of the more advanced features of Slack, such as using advanced search and filtering, keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation, and tips for using Slack as a project management tool

Communication in an organisation, as in life, is very important, so here are some tips that can help you to maintain a clean flow of conversation.

  • Make correct use of capital letters.
  • Use punctuation marks (commas, full stops, exclamations…).
  • Structure what you want to write. A clear and concise message helps more than a long text.
  • Use text personalisation (bold, italics, bullets, etc.) to stylise your message.
  • The use of emojis gives more visibility to your message (depending on the content of your message, use them responsibly).
  • Reactions to messages often help to close conversations.
  • Highlight the key points of your message.
  • Use channels to communicate effectively on different topics, projects, etc.
  • Add files to your message to make it easier to understand.
  • Create conversation threads in messages to keep the initial conversation clean.
  • Make use of audio and video clips to make the message more personal or to help you with an explanation.
  • Remember that you have the Board option to discuss issues via call or video call.
  • Save important messages or anchor them to the conversation to make it easier to find them in the future.
  • Mention the people to whom the message is addressed.
  • Try to resolve conflicts, not create them. Always congratulate in public, correct in private.
