OBJECTIVE: Familiarize participants with a diverse array of digital tools and platforms commonly employed in digital youth work, ranging from social media platforms to interactive event platforms.

In this lesson, we’ll introduce you to a variety of commonly used online tools. Whether you’re already familiar with some of these or exploring them for the first time, this list aims to showcase their versatility and provide inspiration for their application.

1. Social Media Platforms:

  • Facebook: A popular platform for communication, content sharing, and community building. Utilize groups and pages for youth engagement and outreach. Facebook
  • Instagram: A visually-oriented platform for sharing photos, videos, and stories. Ideal for showcasing youth work activities and promoting positive messaging. Instagram
  • Twitter: A platform for concise messages and updates, suitable for real-time engagement and resource sharing in the context of youth work. Twitter

2. Online Learning Management Systems:

  • Moodle: An open-source learning management system (LMS) facilitating the creation and delivery of online courses and assessments. Ideal for structured and interactive learning in digital youth work programs. Moodle
