About Lesson

Mobilities always take place in one of the countries included in the mobility, so in many cases you will have to travel to the host country in order to participate. These journeys are covered by the programme, but in many cases it is the participant themselves who buys the tickets initially, receiving, once the mobility is finished and the necessary documents are presented, the reimbursement of these tickets, up to a limit set by the Programme, which is based on the distance between the sending and host organisations.

Means of transport.
In order to get to the place where the mobility will take place, you can make use of various means of transport, including bus, train, plane and sometimes car sharing.

Extra days
In case you have to travel for mobility, the Erasmus+ Programme also provides the possibility to extend your stay by a maximum of, in general, two days. In case the participant decides to do so, the travel will still be reimbursed, but *Caution*, accommodation and food for these extra days are at the participant’s own expense!

Green Travel.
In many cases, the most comfortable and fastest way to travel to another country is by plane, but these in turn are the most polluting means of transport (you can calculate your journey’s carboon footprint here). For this reason, the European Commission, in line with the objectives of the Programme, has proposed the use of less polluting means of transport for mobility. This is summarised in the possibility of using only bus, train and car sharing as means of transport. By doing so, the Erasmus+ programme foresees an extra amount of money and up to 4 days of additional individual support for your journey.

Documentation to be presented.
In order to be able to receive the refund of the money spent on the tickets, it is necessary to present the following documents:

  • Confirmation of ticket purchase.
  • Ticket (in the case of airline tickets, the Boarding Pass).

In the case of using your own vehicle as a means of transport, the mileage will be calculated and you will need to present the tank fill-up ticket.
